This is the largest evacuation since the Civil War. And the Civil War evacuation was over several battlefronts over a period of 4 years. Crazy, huh?
Well, not really. I have been telling my neighbors and friends since we moved here that everywhere we have been stationed has had a record breaking weather related emergency while we were there. Everyone laughs, but is it any wonder that I'm prepared?
North Carolina--record breaking ice on ground. More than 6 inches AT THE AIRPORT!
Missouri--record breaking snowfall in one day (16 inches in 12 hours)
lowest temperatures on record
Europe--record breaking floods
highest temperatures on record
coldest winter on record
Now here--driest conditions in 130 years, largest spread fires
Seriously man--when I say get ready--I mean it! (No one is ever going to want to rent to us again!)
