The kids were a big hit at the halloween parade at school today. N. was a little nervous when we got to school, because he didn't have a"typical" costume like other kids would be wearing. But, as we walked across the blacktop and kids started going "Whoa! Look at that! That is so AWESOME!" he got really excited about it! And of course, R and J are always so cute!!
They let the preschoolers participate, so when we got there, J. said "I'm gonna be a parade too." I figured it was fine. He was in costume and he had a mask on so no one could tell he wasn't a preschooler! R. held his hand and they were SO good the whole time! It was really fun too.N's class
N's class did a "performance" that was a little rusty, since they didn't get to practice very much. (Being out of school for a whole week messed up a lot of plans!) It was cute though. They really had a good time bowing!
R's class had a sort of "party" too. They decorated cookies and stuff like that! They were thrilled to be in the "big kids" parade!

J. and I came home and got ready for N's class party and then went back to the school. We had so much stuff with us that we had to take the wagon!! The crazy stuff I did for the food for the party went over pretty well, and the party was a lot of fun. I made witch's brooms out of pretzels and string cheese, pumpkins out of rice crispies treats and gumdrops and they had apples and caramel dip. I also got "aqua pod" water bottles, took of the label and drew jack o lantern faces. Then, I painted the tops green. Yesterday, I poured the water into a pitcher and made orange juice (I had to add food coloring because orange juice is actually pretty yellow!) it made pretty cool jack o lanterns!
We went to the C family's house for pizza and trick or treating, and then came home. It was a really good day!
S. is a VERY good pumpkin carver! He lets each kid pick out a template, and they look forward to carving them for weeks! This is what they did this year:N's
